What has been your favourite programme of the year?

The show I can't wait to watch each week has been 'Breaking Bad' on AMC: Tense, original, brilliantly acted and beautifully-made drama. Everything that's great about US TV drama at the moment.

What will you definitely be sitting down to watch at Christmas?

Strangely, in the US there's no tradition of TV on Xmas day.  It'll probably be an animated DVD with the kids, though I may YouTube the Queen's Speech.

If you could give some festive advice to people wanting to get on in TV what would it be?

Festive advice would be to watch your drink at the Xmas party and don't cop off with someone that will get you sacked on Monday.  General advice for people getting into TV would be to focus hard to over-deliver at whatever role you have, be prepared to change jobs and take risks if you believe a project is great and you can excel on it and don't be obsessed by pay and title early in your career- if you prove you're good enough that will all come in time.
