In the run up to the Grierson Awards, we've heard some of the fascinating tales by the documentary makers nominated for this years awards, including Russell Barnes, Paul Overton, Dan Reed, Stuart Bernard and Paul Duane.

Last night we finally found out the winners at the 40th Anniversary of the awards, hosted by artist and cultural commentator Grayson Perry. The Coutts Grierson Trustees’ Award went to Oscar winning filmmaker, Kevin Macdonald.
