I’m adept at embedding myself within a community and accessing institutions.I am now focusing much of my work on the climate emergency, on endangered species, wildlife, the natural environment and the sustainability of our planet. I am particularly interested in working on wildlife narratives such as animal rehabilitation and rescue, conservation and transferring my people and storytelling skills to animals and the natural environment!I have extensive knowledge & experience working with mana whenua & tangata whenua – with Māori iwi (tribes) in Aotearoa, particularly with relation to kaitiakitangi (guardianship of the environment) and I understand tikanga (Māori protocols).In the past, my work as an investigative journalist and current affairs filmmaker, has shed light on important social issues such as criminal justice, knife crime, mental health, human rights, addiction, homelessness etc. I have a long track record making films exploring Women’s rights, GBV, trafficking, modern day slavery, the Syrian refugee crisis & migration. I’m particularly fascinated by unique and inspiring people striving for change, and those who lead non-conformist lives, such as those living alternative, eco-friendly lifestyles off-grid in “intentional/conscious” communities.I have a great contacts book of a wide range of experts and contributors from all walks of life.
