Keith Farrell is a very talented and versatile producer/director. For PBS in the U.S., he recently produced, directed, and wrote an episode of Secrets of the Dead, our popular forensic history strand. Like the best detective story tellers, Keith very skillfully led us through a fascinating case of missing Irish immigrants found in an unmarked mass grave, lost since the late 1800's. With beautifully shot veritè sequences, he captured the discovery of the skeletons and the emotional moments of the investigators. With each archaeological find, he followed the story to the lab where his interviewing talents came to the fore. He managed to turn complicated science into accessible bites from the forensic scientists who pieced together how each railroad worker met his fate. Was it cholera or murder? His script and beautifully directed reconstructions kept us guessing...until the evocative case was solved. Keith is a triple threat as a producer/writer/ director.
