I am a confident and creative producer, who combines a journalistic approach with a great eye for storytelling. Over the past eight years, I have worked to develop my skills across a wide range of genres, including fast turnaround current affairs like ITV’s
Tonight, feature-length documentaries, and in-depth history series for UK and US broadcasters.
From working on several series of BBC’s
Who Do You Think You Are? - (
Episodes: Jack & Michael Whitehall, Sharon Osbourne, Josh Widdicombe, plus one episode TBA) - I am a meticulous researcher who is skilled at shaping extensive background research into a compelling story narrative.
I love casting and finding stories, whether that is leading on sensitive access negotiations, social media outreach, or finding great characters. I am very experienced in finding people connected to past news stories and historic events for documentaries. This has ranged from scouring archive court records to trace individuals connected to a high profile royal kidnap attempt in the 1970s, to casting and interviewing people impacted by the 2011 riots (police officers, firefighters, victims, journalists). Having worked on several sensitive access series, including ITV's
Long Lost Family, I am always attuned to working empathetically with contributors sharing their story for the very first time.
I have directed interviews on several past productions including:
•
Riot: The Week England Burned (Channel 5).
Feel The Noise: The Music That Shaped Britain (BritBox).
The Queen & Her Cousins (ITV).
• Additional recent experience directing a drone and GV shoot in Normandy for
D-Day: The Unheard Tapes (BBC/ The History Channel).
I am confident in liaising with press teams and negotiating with agents for high profile talent. I have led on interview bids for politicians, high profile actors, Olympians, and A-List musicians.
I am always keen to get stuck in with development and research, casting experts, writing scripts and interview questions, setting up shoots (
UK and International), directing interviews, supporting directors, and working with talent on location. I have supported several series through the edit and have some experience of
edit-producing, which I am very keen to build on.
