I am a confident, creative researcher with a wealth of writing and shooting experience. My broadcast credits cover reality formats, observational documentaries and specialist factual programming, on topics from puppies to politics. In my most recent role as a development researcher at RDF Television, I regularly pitched my own ideas to commissioners and then took responsibility for developing these ideas through writing treatments, shooting casting tapes, and editing sizzle reels.

I am very adaptable — having started my career by script-writing for children, I have gone on to develop specialist factual ideas such as a programme on volcanic chemistry, building relationships with experts in the field and then writing up their findings in exciting and accessible language. I have always had a keen interest in history, gaining full marks across the whole of my History A Level and carrying this knowledge through to my English degree at the University of Cambridge. My course covered "Literature and its contexts, from 1300 to the present day" and I feel that this has given me a unique overview of Western history, and the ways in which ideas and cultures propel one another through symbiotic change.

I am a particularly well-rounded researcher due to my work beyond the television industry. Speaking fluent French, I was able to work as a social and political affairs researcher for the OECD. I was required to combine detailed knowledge of economics and law with nuanced analysis of international politics in order to write about trade unions - all while keeping the information punchy and engaging to ensure maximum reach.

I am keen to keep challenging myself, both practically and intellectually, by taking on new responsibilities and learning more about my subjects, and the industry itself. Read Less
